A bonnie country is how Allan Lindsay from Scotland describes New Zealand. I guided Allan (who is staying at the 5 star River Birches in Turangi tonight) out back country River 4 beat O today and after a later than normal start getting there at 10:30 Allan managed a fantastic day. In total 5 were landed out of 13 hooked, including this one pictured here which weighed in at just over 6 and a half pounds. Allan also landed one at 5 and 3 quarters and lost one which I don’t want to estimate but I would guess was well bigger than these. The average size today would have been around 5 pounds. Allan managed one brown just under 4 pounds.
