Its 6:10am is I write this while I wait for my mate Peter Grange from TALTAC (Tongariro and Lake Taupo Anglers Club) to turn-up to go fishing and its raining outside. At the moment the flows are up a little in the Tongariro and the Tauranga-Taupo which is meant to be our destination for the day. I think we will sit around for an hour or so and have a cuppa while we wait and see what the weather does. Peter is in his early 70’s and as you can no doubt tell by this early start, he still has never lost his passion for fly fishing which was his reason for immigrating to New Zealand back in his 20’s - I had a hard time convincing him that 6:30 was a better time than 6 to head away - need my extra half hours beauty sleep!
