Continued my mates fly fishing trainging on the Tongariro today - Ross Wilson from Northpower. Experimented with a new method for getting him straight into double hauling and had pretty good success. Ross is now double hauling and looking a lot more comfortable in the water - after only two days of fly fishing! Ross hooked two yesterday and I hooked 3. We weren’t exactly going hard trying to catch fish but more working on casting as well as teaching Ross how to rig his leader and flies. Ended the day by having a few beers and a sing along on guitar with Manu Lala and his friends - Manu. Manu caught 5 yesterday but his group of friends reported that fishing was relatively tough which wasn’t surprising given the immense pressure on the water over the day.
