Wet lined first thing this morning and caught a few recovery rainbows as well as a couple of nice ones, and then nymphed for a bit and again got a mixed bag of recoveries as well as a couple of decent ones. Did spey casting practice after lunch (Tongariro Roll Cast and Snap T from the true left bank) at the Hydro pool and landed one more recovery. A Recovery is my politically correct term for what others would call a slab – i.e. a fish which has done its spawning thing and is now feeding to recovery condition as it slowy drops down the river and hopefully out to the lake again. Probably hooked around a dozen more or less for a very relaxed fish without walking very far from the car at all. Hope it is this easy for my next guiding job.
