Went for roll casting practice in the Hydro pool of the Tongariro before lunch and caught one OK rainbow around 3 and a half pounds. Later on in the day fished for a couple of hours late afternoon wet-lining and landed 3 less fresh ones, lost 1, and had several other probable takes. At present the river is low and clear but full of trout! The wet lining fly for me was olive wooly bugger of course but I like to tye mine with grizzle hackle and silver wire with the olive and black chenille.
