All our prices are for one or two anglers meaning the total price is the same whether there is one or two of you - so if there are two then split the price in half if you are paying separately. We also cater to larger groups - price on application. Some of our accommodations can take up to 4 people at no extra charge but it does normally mean a bit of turn taking with the fishing so we would normally recommend two guides for this but are happy to take up to four with one guide at no extra charge if you want.

Catch Insurance - Optional
- 10% of the daily guiding fee i.e. NZ$50 - 60/day. If you opt to pay the catch insurance premium then should you fail to land (or hook - witnessed by yourself) a trout of 12 inches or greater then you will not be charged the guiding fee for the day!
Licenses
There are two different licensing bodies in New Zealand. Department Of Conservation covers Lake Taupo and tributaries and you can purchase these from US on the day of fishing. Back country and wilderness fishing is covered by Fish & Game and can be purchased on line by credit card from https://fishandgame.eyede.com/public/get_page.php prior to your trip or by calling the New Zealand free phone number 0800 542 3623 which costs an extra $5. Purchasing from us on the day will cost an extra $5.

Accommodation/Guiding packages
For those on a budget we offer accommodation staying with the guide for $20/night for the number of days guiding plus one extra night. Accommodation is not flash i.e. bunks in the spare room, but the company is superb!
Anglers Anonymous Spot X Back Country Fishing Lodge - On the banks of the Wanganui river near Taumarunui an hour and a quarter from Taupo, this brand new roomy self contained studio apartment is separate from the owners house. Your lounge/dining area looks out over a large pool/dam and often has a great evening rise of both wild brown and rainbow trout. You can literally cast off the front lawn and catch trout. Clay bird shooting from the front lawn or just sit back in the evenings and enjoy a fine New Zealand beer or wine and talk fishing in a warm relaxing atmosphere with your super friendly hosts. This place is fly fishing heaven and puts you right on the doorstep of several great rivers - besides the one outside your front door!
- Summer & Winter: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding $2500, or 6 nights accommodation and 5 days guiding $4050. The price includes continental breakfasts but dinner is an extra $60/person - lunch is provided by guide. There is also a restaurant/bar a mile down the road that serves 1 kilo steaks if you are hungry or you may prefer to use the BBQ or cook yourself if you prefer.
Bridge Lodge Tongariro - Motel/lodge with good restaurant and bar situated meters from the mighty Tongariro river.
- Winter: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding for 2 anglers for $1900, or 6 nights accommodation and 5 days guiding for 2 anglers for $3100.
- Summer: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding for 2 anglers for $2200, or 6 nights accommodation and 5 days guiding for 2 anglers for $3600.
River Birches - 5 star fishing lodge 2 minutes walk from Major Jones pool on the Tongariro river. The prices here include breakfast but dinner is an extra $65/person - lunch is provided by guide.
- Winter: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding for 2 anglers for $2680, or 7 nights accommodation and 6 days guiding for 2 anglers for $4475.
- Summer: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding for 2 anglers for $2980, or 7 nights accommodation and 6 days guiding for 2 anglers for $5075.
Tongariro River Motel - Motel minutes walk from the Tongariro river with fish cleaning facilities and smoke house.
- Winter: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding for 2 anglers for $1740, or 6 nights accommodation and 5 days guiding for 2 anglers for $2910.
- Summer: 4 nights accommodation and 3 days guiding for 2 anglers for $2040, or 6 nights accommodation and 5 days guiding for 2 anglers for $3360.
Deposit
Not required for bookings of 1 or 2 days. A 20% non-refundable deposit may be required to confirm some bookings of 3 days or more - though this can be negotiated if the booking is well in advance or for other reasons you may feel reasonable. The reason for a deposit is simple - we are often booked out well in advance and should someone cancel at the last moment, we'll be unlikely to find a replacement booking having most likely already turned down several. Deposits can be paid securely over the internet and we will send you an invoice with a link to a secure site for payment. Payment is normally made via Paymate using Mastercard or Visa - Paymate is similar to PayPal but it works in NZ$.
